Attacking prodigy Chinedu Ohanachom has opened up on his stint at Nasarawa United and how satisfied he is leaving the solid miners after cumulatively spent five seasons.
With 19 goals to his name Chinedu Ohanachom is a cult hero amongst the Nasarawa United faithful, a status he believes will cement his name to the folklore of the solid miners.
“My time in Lafia was a great one working with three great Coaches during my stint, quite unfortunate how I left the club unceremoniously but I’m proud of the little I contributed in the quest to return the team to the apex league”.
Nasarawa United had gone down to the second tier of the Nigeria league during the 2021/2022 season but got an instant return, Chinedu played a pivotal role as the team return ahead of the likes of Wikki Tourists and Gombe United.
“The lowest of my career was when we got relegated from the NPFL in 2022”.
“We fight till the very last day but it was rather unfortunate that we could not gather the necessary points that would have made us stay afloat”.
“The good thing was that we were able to fight our way back to the NPFL and the joy on the faces of the fans in Lafia was enough as we all celebrated the feat”.
Despite featuring three times in the current season, Chinedu Ohanachom parted ways with Nasarawa United after agreeing to terminate his contract with them.
“Yes, I left the team as a satisfied man as I was part of the players that returned the team back to the premier”.
On what is next for Chinedu, the lanky forward has this to say.
“I am still very much available on the market as I will be willing to team up with any team that requires my experience to deliver. I am not new to the system and I believe to still have plenty to offer, he concluded”.
In his five seasons over two stints with Nasarawa United, Chinedu Ohanachom scored 19 goals in 63 games while he has previously played for El Kanemi Warriors, Enyimba FC, Yobe Desert Stars and Heartland FC of Owerri.
