Ocheche Ngbede’s first half strike was all El Kabir FC needed to claim the 2025 Barade Nasarawa football tournament after beating Black Scorpions of Nasarawa.
Black Scorpions began the game on a front foot by dominating the early proceedings in terms of possession.
Bilya Chinkai caused El Kabir all sorts of problems but El Kabir stood tall to deny the attacker on two occasions.
Ocheche Ngbede would steal the show when his 36th minute strike decided the game.
Speaking after the game, Nasarawa State Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima praised the donor of the competition, RT. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohamed PhD for staging an event of such magnitude to promote grassroot football.
“I’d love to thank the Barade Nasarawa, RT. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohamed PhD on the success of the third edition of the championship which did not only attract all the sons and daughters of the state, but also brought top dignitaries from all walks of life”.
“As the states FA, we will continue to pull our support to individuals who are ready to use football as a veritable tool to promote peace amongst the people of a place”.
The soft spoken administrator rounded up by congratulating the winners of the tournament thereby urging them to keep working hard if truly they want to make it through this round leather game.
Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima (Dan Iyan Kwandare) was however award the Lifetime Grassroot Football Game Changer Of The Year by the organizers of the tournament.
Dignitaries led by the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, H.E Engr Abdullahi A. Sule ably represented by Dr Emmanuel Akabe (The Deputy Governor Of Nasarawa State), Hon. Danladi Jatau (Speaker Nasarawa State House Of Assembly), Barr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji (SSG to Nasarawa State Governor), Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohamed (Accountant General), Hon. Dr. Aliyu Bello PhD, Barr. Isaac Danladi (Attorney General), Hon. Yakubu Kwanta Boha (Commissioner For Sports), Hon. Ibrahim Tanko (Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism), Hon. Sani Mohammed Ottos (Commissioner for Commerce), Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima (Chairman, Nasarawa State FA), Solomon Babanja (Nasarawa United Chairman) and a host of other dignitaries alike.
The Nasarawa State FA were not left out as the Secretariat led by Blessing David, Local Council Chairmen led by Mallam Sidi (Keffi), Board Member, Segun Akeusola and a host of others were also on ground for the grand finale of the Barade Nasarawa Cup.
For the individual awards, Zakari from Mararaba Selected won the golden boot as Ismaila Ibrahim of Black stars was voted as the Best Goalkeeper with Ochoche Ngbede scooping the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
