FRSC Claims Engr. A.A Sule Inter Security Peace And Unity Cup in Lafia

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) football team defeated the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to light the second edition of the Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule Inter Security Peace and Unity Cup.

It was blitz and glitz as we witnessed the closing ceremony of the 2nd Edition Of the Inter Security Peace and Unity Cup at the Lafia City Stadium.Earlier, Nayes defeated the Nigerian Army by four goals to one to win the loser’s finals before the big game began.In the final, NSCDC dominated play but could not get a breakthrough and Jerry Bulus in goal for FRSC stood tall to deny Civil defense from hitting the target.

In the 32nd minutes, Referee Abigail Audu pointed to the spot for an infringement on Road Safety player but Toyyib Alakija was on hand to deny Adanu Adanu from 12 yards as the first half ended goalless.

In the second half, Road Safety brought on Godwin Johnbull and instantly the substituon paid dividends when Eshimutu Gwamna squares a pass to Ari Rabiu who was apprehended in goal and the referee pointed to the spot.

This time Chidera Nduka was saddled with the responsibility as he buried the ball out of the reach of Toyyib Alakija.

20 minutes later Aminu Abubakar made the game safe for Road Safety when he got to the end of Adanu Adanu’s pass to slot home from close range as FRSC ran out winners thereby winning the tournament.

While speaking, The Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports, Hon. Hamzat Moyi thanked H.E Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule for putting in his effort to sponsor a tournament that is aimed to promote peaceful coexistence amongst all the Inter Security agencies within the state.

He rounded up by saying, the next edition of the tournament will be bigger and better than what was witnessed at the second edition.

The duo of Bishop Nwankwo and Eshimutu Gwamna of the FRSC FC won the Coach and Player of the tournament while Toyyib Alakija (NSCDC) won the golden glove as Nigeria Army went home with the fairplay award for the most disciplined side.

H.E Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State topped the pool of dignitaries at the final alongside H.E Dr Emmanuel Akabe, The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State.Royal Father, Andoma of Doma, His Royal Majesty, Ahmodu Aliyu Ogah, Honorable Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Jatau, Hon Jafaru Ango (Commissioner For Youth and Sports Development, Nasarawa State), Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima (Nasarawa State FA Chairman), Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta (Vice Chairman NSFA), leaders of all the security agencies within the states and some other notable top government officials were present at the finals and the highlight of the event was the picture session the executive Governor of Nasarawa State had with all the participating teams.
