Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt secured a crucial victory over Naija Ratels in their NWFL Premiership Matchday 10 clash at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Wednesday.
In a fiercely contested encounter, both goalkeepers, Anderline Mgbechi and Doris Ohia, were tested throughout. However, early pressure paid off for the home side, with Titilayo Aweda finding the net just 56 seconds into the game. Mary Moses sealed the win in the 47th minute with her seventh goal of the season, ensuring Rivers Angels extended their unbeaten run.
The team dedicated the victory to their teammate Peace Effiong, whose father passed away earlier on Wednesday.
Rivers Angels will now shift focus to the President Federation Cup round of 32, where they face Moje Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday, April 5.
