Marilyn Essien has been singing the praises of her team, Nasarawa Amazons FC after they whitewashed Confluence Queens Of Lokoja in Lafia.
“We never expected the outcome of yesterday’s result against Confluence Queens as we all know how difficult a derby is. We prepared well but to get as much as five goals without conceding was just something out of the world, she said”.
Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia at home put five goals past Confluence Queens in one of match day 11 fixtures of the Nigeria Woman Football League (NWFL) and Marilyn Essien who featured for all minutes could not hide her excitement after game.
“Yes it was a proud moment for the girls as we put our all in the game knowing fully well that we can’t afford a slip with Abia Angels hot on our trail for one of the Super6 slots”.
“We want to keep fighting as we want to seal our qualifications to the NWFL Super6 early and know what the next phase will look like”.
When quizzed on what the next phase will be, Marilyn Essien with an assuring smile said, “It’s to bring home the trophy”.Goals from Amina Bello, Josephine Mathias and Akekeromowei Janet’s hatrick secured the points for the Lafia Landladies as Marilyn Essien played a pivotal role in the team’s victory.
