The City of Daddare in Nasarawa State came alive when the 7th edition of the Mailafia Peace And Unity Cup kicked off with Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima (Nasarawa State FA Chairman) present.
The opening ceremony which was witnessed by a Marmont crowd saw a solitary strike from Mahmud Mohammed hand Thunder FC the maximum points against Heartland FC Shabu.
While attending to journalists at the event, Salisu Usman Galadima hailed Yakubu Mailafia for investing in grassroot tournament as people like remain a core part in nation building.
“It is clear that everybody is excited, and we are having a good feel of good football. My passion is to continue to develop football at the grassroots.
Every football fan in Nasarawa State is witnessing drastic changes in the football system in the state and i must commend the initiator of the tournament for using football as a tool to promote peace in his community, he concluded”.
Top on the event was the presentation of Fulafia Tigers FC replica to Salisu Galadima and Yakubu Mailafia with Samson Siasia also in attendance.
