The Executive Governor Of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has praised the performances of the Nasarawa Amazons despite losing to Rivers Angels in the finals of the 2025 Federation Cup.
In a short message sent to the ladies moments after the game, Engr. Abdullahi Sule congratulated the ladies for reaching the final, a feat many teams will grab with both hands.
“Congratulations ladies for reaching the finals and playing so fantastic, even though we lost on penalties. That’s the game of football for you”.
“I’m glad that I came to watch you ladies play and trust me, It’s always sad if you don’t win but that’s the rule of the game”.
“You win some and lose some. Today wasn’t ours. Congratulations and I will be waiting to receive you in Lafia, Don’t feel bad at all, the sports loving Governor concluded’.
Individual awards were handed to the players as Nasarawa Amazons Olushola Shobowale won the MVP while Anderline Mgbechi (Rivers Angels) and Abase-Mfon Nwa (Ibom Angels) won the best goalkeeper and top scorer awards respectively.
The game which was played at the Mobolaji Johnson also saw the governors of Lagos and Kwara State (Babajide Sanwolu and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq) also in attendance.
