Federation Cup: Abia Warriors Bundles Out Pillars As El Kanemi Warriors Dumps Kebbi United To Set Up Battle Of The Warriors Clash In Abuja

It will be the battle of warriors as Abia Warriors defeated Kano Pillars in Lafia to set up a final showdown with El Kanemi Warriors who edged Kebbi United in Abuja.

It was a nail biting affair between Abia Warriors and Kano Pillars at the Lafia City Stadium with Pillars dominating play but missed chances was the order of the day as they failed to convert from their banging chances.

Ali Ishaku was in an imperious form as he denied Ismail Mohammed from the spot before Mustapha Ibrahim Yuga missed his chance as Abia Warriors won 4-3 on penalties after converting all their spot-kicks.

Speaking after the game, Coach Bethel Oji admitted to have played against a more formidable side in Kano Pillars.

“We really prepared for it, as we struggled all through the season in the league, So when we got to the quarter final of the Federation cup, we decided to concentrate on the cup”.

“We cemented our place in the league for next season after winning our last match, now our total concentration is on winning the FA cup now”.

“It was a very difficult game because Kano Pillars is a very big club side both tactically and technically plus the maturity of the players, they are very good and i give them kudos for giving us a good fight, he concluded”.

On the other side, Ahmed Musa Yaro Yaro who spoke to the media acknowledged that the loss to Abia Warriors was nothing but the will of God.

“The loss today was just the will of God because in life no matter how much you try once it is not your day, it isn’t going to be your day”.

“I know that our boys did their best as they put in their all but it was not good enough, nothing more one can do than to wish Abia Warriors good luck”.

On the level of the game Ahmed Musa Yaro Yaro disclosed that his side were the better side.

“The game was not difficult as we played better than them, we created many scoring chances but unfortunately the game had to end the way it did and we will have to accept our fate, he concluded”.

At the other Semi final, El Kanemi Warriors defeated Kebbi United 5-4 on penalties after the game had ended without a goal in the regulation time as it will be El Kanemi Warriors versus Abia Warriors in the final of the 2024 Edition of the President Federation Cup.
