The Director of Sports at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Isah Ozegya, on Tuesday led a delegation from the Directorate of Sports to pay a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Nasarawa State, Barr. Isaac Danladi, at his office in Lafia.

The visit, described as a strategic move to strengthen ties between the university and the state’s sports-friendly attorney general, aimed to seek collaborative support for the growth of sporting activities at FULafia.

Barr. Danladi, who is well known for his longstanding involvement in sports administration, having served as Chairman of Nasarawa United Football Club and held several appointments within the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), welcomed the delegation warmly. He attributed part of his personal and professional success to football, noting that sports played a pivotal role in shaping his life and career.

“I have been following developments at FULafia, both in sports and academics, and I must say I am impressed with the progress so far,” Danladi said. He assured the Ozegya-led team of his readiness to collaborate with the institution in promoting sporting initiatives that would benefit students and the broader university community.

He further pledged his willingness to support the university whenever invited to participate in sporting events, adding that such partnerships would help in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of sportsmanship among young people.

Ozegya, while expressing appreciation for the warm reception, noted that the Directorate’s vision aligns with the Commissioner’s passion for sports development in Nasarawa State. He said the meeting marked the beginning of a potentially fruitful relationship between FULafia and the erstwhile football administrator in leveraging sports for youth engagement and institutional growth.
