It was a record breaking evening at the Lafia City Stadium to conclude the group stages of the #NasGovCup24 at the on Sunday.

Nasarawa LGA’s total annihilation of Obi LGA in the first game of the day could only connote that the last game between Toto LGA and Doma LGA will go down to the wire.

Ngbede Ochoche with five-goal contributions was the highlight of his side’s 7-1 win over Obi LGA.

Ngbede Ochoche scored in the 6th, 32nd and 77th minutes while he also provided the assists for Ime Clement 27mins and Adamu Ibrahim 42mins to complete his goal contributions, Sulieman Dauda 45+ and Ishimutu Gomina 86th minute strikes however completed the mauling of the helpless Obi LGA despite Abdulrazaq Egya’s delightful freekick which acted as a mere consolation for the Obi boys.

The second game was a little bit balance as it was a derby between boundary neighbours in Toto LGA and Doma LGA of the state.Toto LGA got into the lead early in the 10th minutes when left back Dalhatu Jibrin got to the end of a corner kick to volley home to the admiration of their fans at the stadium.

Knowing fully well that they’ll need to score two goals without conceding to stand a chance of making it to the quarter finals, Doma LGA push men forward as the trio of Sulieman Ibrahim, Salihu Sulieman and Tanko Abubakar caused the Toto side loads of problems but the duo of Adam Yakubu and Jibrin Usman (who stood in for the suspended Nasiru Muhammad as Toto’s captain) did a perfect job to keep the Doma boys at bay as they picked the last quarter final slot.

The octuple of Akwanga, Nasarawa, Wamba, Nasarawa Eggon, Keffi, Karu, Lafia and Toto all made the passage to the next round of the tournament. The quarter finals will however see Lafia play Akwanga, Karu take on Toto on Tuesday while Wednesday will see Nasarawa battle Nasarawa Eggon before Keffi will seize up Wamba for a place in the semi finals.

All games are expected to begin by 1pm Nigerian time.
