Member representing Nasarawa Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hajara Ibrahim Danyaro has revealed that her passion for football was born out of her love for the game.
She made the statement at the Lafia City Stadium when she came to cheer Nasarawa LGA to victory over Nasarawa Eggon at the ongoing Nasarawa State Governor’s Cup.
Hon. Hajara Ibrahim Danyaro who also doubles as the chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs had congratulated her people for making the local government proud before assuring the good people of Nasarawa LGA that the team will make it to the grand finale.

“Firstly I appreciate the Almighty God for giving the players the good health and ability to play a very fair game. You can see that at the first half they led, they also led in the second half and in the dying moments our opponents equalizer came”.
“With determination, success is at our side and we have really answered our name Nasarawa. Today, The Nasarawa is with Nasarawa team. So Alhamdulilah, I thank the officials of the match and also the players and insha Allah, we’ll win the Semi Finals”.
On when she so much support football especially at the grassroots, the soft spoken administrator said it was purely passion.
“You know my passion for football came because I was once a player. I played football as a secondary school student. I am also the first woman to own a football team in Nasarawa as far back the 80’s as the chairperson of Wuba Best Football Club. And the Nasarawa players can testify that every year I do hold football tournaments. There was even a play two years ago where Basira was in Nasarawa and he took the best player from the team that won that match and today he plays for FC Basira”.
“So my passion for football is something that is natural. I really hope Nasarawa LGA wins the Semi Finals and eventually carries the cup”.

On her assessment of the tournament, Hajara Ibrahim Danyaro however rated the organisation high.
“The assessment of Organization of the Governor’s Cup if I’m to be honest is very wonderful. I want to commend the FA Chairman Honourable Salisu Galadima for doing a wonderful job. There is nothing that unites the youths than football and today all their attention is focused on this tournament. Also we the mothers, our attention is also here that is why I am here today, She concluded”.
Nasarawa LGA defeated Nasarawa Eggon LGA 5-4 on penalties after the game had ended three all at regulation time to book a date with Keffi LGA in the semi finals.
