Bendel Insurance FC Captain, Meyiwa Orisemeyinwa have expressed his delight with his team’s first away win of the season after defeating Sunshine Stars FC of Akure 2-1 in their newly adopted home ground in Ijebu Ode. A first half goal from Kayode Oke Solomon in the 17th minute earlier put Bendel Insurance in front and was cancelled before the end of the first half by Sodiq Ibrahim of Sunshine stars in the 44th minute. Nnamdi Anthony fired the winner for the Benin Arsenals in the 60th minute.The versatile forward who commended his teammates for fighting extra hard and for showing the desire to bounce back to winning ways after the home loss to Abia Warriors last weekend.”I Feel overwhelmed and please with the performance yesterday. You know, last season we did not record any away win in the league but now it is done with many more still on the way. I Commend my teammate for the hunger and desire to win. As a team, we took it upon ourselves knowing That if we lost the match, we will be going down to NPFL standings and it will be difficult for us and our confidence.”On What’s next for the team, the Skipper stated that this win against Sunshine stars will serve as a morale booster ahead of Saturday’s game against Kano Pillars at home, maintaining that the team is ready to do their best to maintain the momentum.Meyiwa, also spoke about his experience with the CHAN Eagles team after he made the invitation list and trained with the team. He highlighted how happy and proud he feels to be invited to the national team which is the height of every soccer player. He also spoke with confidence that with his special skills and experience in the game that he’s going to make the first team of the CHAN Eagles.
