Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Nasarawa State has congratulated Nasarawa Amazons for its historic achievement,unwavering determination,courage and tenacity to write its name in the anal of Women Football History in Nigeria.
A statement by the Chairman of the Association, Comrade SMAH GEORGE said the victory of the Lafia Landladies against Star studded Edo Queens in the President’s Cup at Ayingba, Kogi State which ended Two-Nil was just not heart warming but affirmation of the status of the Amazons in Nigeria’s Football and a pride to the people of the state.
According to the Statement,the performance of the Nasarawa Amazons in the just concluded Six and the qualifications of the Amazons to the final of this year’s President speaks volumes of the commitment of the Management, Technical crew,players, and indeed other stakeholders in the football industry.
The Association commended the support of the state government in all ramifications, calling on the Amazons to complete the good work they have started by winning this year’s President Cup when they confront Rivers Angels.
