Federal University of Lafia Football Team (Fulafia Tigers) has made it to the final eight of the 2024 edition of the Mailafia Peace And Unity Cup.

In a game that was keenly contested between both sides saw Olosoho dominating the early proceedings but Fulafia Tigers who were without talismanic captain Longji Simon and attacking sensation Micheal Christopher had nothing to worry about as the duo of Christian Godwin and Henry Yau made sure the duo weren’t missed as the first half ended without a goal.

On resumption Fulafia Tigers came all out to show why they are called the school boys with their ever impressive and calculative moves both on and off the call causing all sorts of troubles for the opponents.

Christian Godwin will however be the decider when poked home the only goal of the game on the 54th minute as Fulafia Tigers continue their impressive journey at the tournament.

Speaking after the game Abraham Kaika Danladi who was equally impressive said his side came against a very good side in Olosoho FC but their resilience paid the price for his side.

“Olosoho FC were impressive as they caused us all sort of problems but we were resolute as we wanted the quarter finals slot more”.

“We deserve the win and we got it with a clean sheet, big kudos to the boys”.

On if Fulafia Tigers should be tagged as the favourite to hand the tournament, Mangala as Abraham Kaika is widely known chose to be diplomatic in his response.

“We will never take the tag of being favourites as we will take each game at a time. The game against Olosoho FC is gone, next is who our next opponents will be and we will take it from there, He concluded”.
