Munyal Kwairanga made history as the sole representative of Gombe State at the National Gymnastics Championship, claiming three gold medals in individual events. Competing across three apparatuses, Munyal demonstrated remarkable skill and composure, securing victories in two of her events and an overall all-around win.
Munyal’s first gold came in the Floor Exercise, where her exceptional performance earned her a score of 7.60, the highest among all competitors. She followed this up with another solid effort on the Vaulting Horse, scoring 11.30 points, which placed her fifth but without a medal.
Her standout performance came on the Balance Beam, where she earned a score of 6.60, taking home her second gold medal of the event. With no teammates from Gombe State to form a full team, she was unable to compete for team honors, as a minimum of three competitors are required for that category.
Munyal rounded off her individual success by securing the overall All-round Best title, amassing a total of 25.50 points. This impressive feat earned her a third gold medal, bringing her total count to three.
Despite being the only gymnast from Gombe State, Munyal has proven herself a formidable competitor, proudly putting Gombe state on the national gymnastics map.
