…Peseiro should use different approaches if

The popular Swiss-based Nigerian Coach, Adedeji Adeyemi has said he is proud to be an African descent with the level of the ongoing 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations.

The UEFA Licence tactician stated this in an exclusive interview with varsportnow.blogspot.com on the level of Football display by the African teams.

According to former Brila FM pundit, he said: “I think with the level of Football matches playing so far, I am very satisfied. I have seen many surprises with the so called Minnows humiliating big countries that have rich history in continental football except Morocco and Senegal.”

“I think it’s high time people should know that football is no longer about names but the commitment and technical competence put in by coaches and the players that would determine the outcome of each game. Most of my Europeans friends,Coach colleagues, are surprised to see the level of Football playing in this AFCON. In fact, I’m proud to be an African”. Said the young erudite coach

The former Stationary Stores added that “Europeans are now seeing new dynamics in African football which is no longer about strength but technical and tactical ability that have been added into the game. A lot of surprises from so many teams are conspicuous for the world to see. It’s interesting to see that perception of our football to the entire world has changed. We have seen a lot of pace, techniques, strength, tactics and coordinating that have proved that the ball in the continent has evolved beyond rhetoric:

On the performance of referees, the FC Witikon Head Coach said it’s exciting to see African referees performing brilliantly well with global trends. They are now in tune with technology as those in charge of VAR makes necessary corrections at difficult situations. They are always on spot assessment and the mistakes appear minimal.

On the pattern employed by Super Eagles team so far, the exciting young Coach submitted that Coach Peseiro is using 3:4:3 formation. This formation appears too difficult for the strikers to go upfront but good defensively . It’s very easy for the wingers to defend collectively anytime the opponents are approaching. That is why we have only conceded a goal so far and scored just 3 goals. The coordination to go forwardis not there. The coach should evolve a pattern where the players will be able to play and score more goals and this is why it’s good for the coach to play either 3:5:2 or 4:3:3. This formation will give them more attacking mind-set as also will help them play defensively as the players will play together in both situations . I want to see a situation where our players will take ball to opponent half. We play more defensively against Cote d’Ivoire and I don’t think it will work against Cameroon because they are very strong. Even President Tinubu said he was not convinced with the way the Super Eagles play in the ongoing AFCON.

Playing the same pattern all along may hunt us, I think coach Peseiro should use different formation as each game differs . The same thing happened to coach Eguavoen in Cameroon using the same formation and Tunisians studied us and knocked us out. The Lagos born Football gaffer posited.
